Tax Haven secrecy
« on: April 21, 2011, 23:02:34 »
Those of you who are concerned about the amount of tax being dodged through the use of tax havens, may like to join in with Christian Aid's campaign to have the secrecy that surrounds them done away with.

As long as you pay your UK taxes, there is nothing wrong in holding some dosh outside of the UK if it has been gained abroad. Eventually I will have money coming to me that way, and will probably keep it in the haven concerned, until I need it.

This campaign is somewhat different, T.  This relates to the billions of dollars that developing nations lose from tax dodging citizens - such as Gaddafi or Mubarak, Mugabe or Amin.  In fact, they lose more from tax dodgers of this sort than they receive in foreign aid.
