Basically, it just goes on and on, and it's a very straightforward little communication thread. Post anything at all about your day, your dinner, your dog, your cat, your self.

This afternoon we are going to view the brand new bungalow our Down's Syndrome son (26) and two other clients will be moving into, hopefully in the next few weeks. I am finding it increasingly hard to cope with both his needs and those of my disabled husband. We think it will be beneficial to him to move into this community living project and may encourage him to be a bit more independent. So far we have been highly impressed with Flintshire Social Services, and trust we continue to be so in the future, when our lad moves on.

RR1 - been riding on my ex bike in the living room - but its now too hot to do that.
RR2 - its way too nice outside to be sat in front of a computer  :) .... er so I had better get to the kitchen to make some soup for tea.

Our son's dormer bungalow is WONDERFUL. LUCKY, LUCKY BLOKE, I AM SO DEAD JEALOUS! He has a good size lounge, a bedroom the same size, and spacious shower room too, and two walk in cupboards! He moves in with the other two clients on April 11th, so we have some serious shopping to do. We have to provide his furniture and curtains.

tranchiebabe,
I was out in the greenhouse this morning and I remembered the appointment you had for you son. I was going to ask how it went. Well that's good news. What does your son think of his new room mates?

So my afternoon will be spent in the greenhouse transplanting seedlings. It's been snowing now for 5 days. Sunshine and warm coming on Tuesday.  Central Canada got hit with a big stow storm yesterday. Oh well. Out west here beside the Rocky Mountains, we can have a snow fall in every month of the year.

A percentage of my joy comes from seeing Orions belt in the sky at night...which is why I prefer winter!

Boudi,
Are you able to see the Aurora Borealis (northern lights) where you are in the winters? They use to spook me as a kid but
now I love watching the show on cold winter nights.

I would explode with glee if I could, but can't, so lack explosions.

What does your son think of his new room mates?

Pow wow due to his mental disability it isn't always easy to workout how he feels about anything. He says they are fine, but then everything is fine. He will find everything very strange at first. Hopefully he will settle down well, all the people who we have met who will be interacting with our lad seem very pleasant indeed. We have decided that once we settle him in we will not see him for two weeks to give him a chance to get acclimatised to a new way of doing things. Naturally we will phone him daily.

tranchiebabe, I am SO glad that it is looking good for your son in his new home - I think you are right about not visiting him for a couple of weeks as well - though it will be hard for all of you... Good luck with the shopping!
