What would it mean if Christians fully occupied the Gospel?
« on: December 31, 2011, 12:56:31 »
I won't apologise to anyone who has seen this on other boards - I have now started it on 3 boards and 1 email discussion forum.

In an end of year email, Jim Wallis of the Sojourners (www.sojourners.com) poses the question - "What would it mean if Christians fully occupied the Gospel?".

Regardless of your theological/religious/atheistic beliefs - how would you see the answer to this question?  Remember that, whilst Wallis poses it from within the context of the USA, it can have any context you find yourself in.
Growing old is compulsory. Growing up is optional.

Have you visited the Garw Valley Railway yet?

I think one has to first define what is meant by the question. What does he mean by 'fully occupy the gospel'?
If, as I believe, you think he means 'live you life fully obeying the teachings therein', we have a further difficulty, in that different denominations/groups within denominations interpret those teachings in radically different ways.
Putting these little local difficulties aside, and looking at the broader picture, it would shake up a lot of the establishment, both political and economical.

hmmm

methinks the gospel cannot be occupied by anyone it is something freely given and fully transformative... so we can be fully occupied by the gospel ... unfortunately well ... we think it's all about our choices when it's all about GOD..

i disagree that it's about how we live our life it's all about how GOD lives in us through us now that changes stuff

GOD BLESS!

Peace and Love,

sounds like a snappy soundbite that doesn't really mean anything.
One God - enough for me
