I saw a story on TV about a woman who had a jumper made from her dogs fur (though that would not appeal to me).

How long is your hair ecu? I think some women sell theirs  for hair extensions etc

Jan, my father had a jumper made from the hair of two of our dogs, spun by one of my sisters and knitted by another!
It was very warm, but it did take several years to accumulate enough hair to do so - and they were Welsh Border Collie/Spaniel cross with quite long and thick coats.

lol - was it not a bit itchy?

I think we could easily make jumpers out of the cat fur that gets around our house - especially when they have been fighting (fur does fly then  )):  )

not at all itchy - just as soft as wool - which is what it is after all...

I used to have a jumper knitted from mohair by my Nana -  and that could be a bit itchy (but it looked nice and was very fashionable). Someone who has dog hair jumpers describes them to be a bit like mohair but more lightweight and soft - see linky below  :)

you see!?

well the deed has been done... and since the hairperson had swept before and was about to sweepnow ... me i thought ... well i looked at the floor and said ooh it would make a rug and the hairperson said or a pillow...

now the big question is .....  ok one can sweep it all up and put it in a sack and then what... how does one stop the hair from attracting mites and who knows what and just being a seething mass of hayfever... i did wonder... about doing dreads and then retaining the matted 'fibres' and then making a weave of sorts? how does one wash that at a subsequent time?   any ideas? any knowledge? will hafta look up the dog hair link later..

i can't believe this i sound quite serious haha

GOD BLESS!
