police elite resign amidst NOW fallout

mmm.... Blair did not resign over Iraq so i can't quite see Cameron doing the honourable thing too can you?

the media seem to have played a big role ... in the resignations of Stephenson and Yates or is this just perception would they have gone even without the hype... should they have gone?  and... who's next?

are there valid comparisons between Stephenson and Cameron or are these really completely different issues... ie perceptions and trust and oh dear well now trustworthiness...

for me it raises interesting issues about..... what if as the tories desire ... we had elected heads of the police then .... would the relations between media and office ever be anything but rahter suspect?

sadly no chance of Cameron going - and I would have been surprised had Stephenson and/or Yates gone without the media hype, but I do think there is a quantitative difference between C & S as C was not in charge if investigations...

i don't know much about Stephenson.... was he not a political appointment by Theresa May and bovine johnson?

listening to the parliamentary home affairs committee grilling of Yates i was less than impressed.... with both really... seems like Yates is one of those guys who is comfortable to assess his own purity by his own measuring stick and that will do nicely just smile for the camera
