roseanne barr on fame
« on: June 11, 2011, 18:18:26 »
http://www.guardian.co.uk/culture/2011/jun/11/roseanne-barr-on-fame

this story in today's guardian mag... i really enjoyed reading this account dunno some may find it amusing... me i found it moving and poignant ... and true to real life ... like church.. i mean life's a **** if you're from the wrong show

i never did like that show of hers but hey

can folks relate to her either from personal experience or seeing others in the same boat.. ie an environment that is deeply prejudicial as well as completely dishonest intellectually and in its handling

GOD BLESS!

Peace and Love,

Preserve me from celebs who then decide they don't want celebrity. If you don't want the press prying into your life don't try to be a celeb in the first place!  Hands and feeding spring to mind....

we used to watch Roseanne back in the 80's - just shows what goes on 'behind the scenes' doesn't it. Some harsh lessons learnt no doubt too, but they do say that what doesn't kill you does makes you stronger (don't they?)
'Amor Vincit Omnia' ?

And who, may I ask, is Roseanne Barr?
Growing old is compulsory. Growing up is optional.

Have you visited the Garw Valley Railway yet?

I used to love Roseanne. Very funny show! But yes, Jan, interesting behind the scenes stuff there!

Andrew, I too hate celebs who moan about being famous - but I think a lot of what Roseanne was saying in that article was to do with being badly treated by management and people who were supposedly looking after her interests! If what she's saying is true, then she was treated very shabbily - and that can happen to ANYONE in ANY area of work!

bit confused about this.....  the article is talking about rather different issues from oh no i'm a celebrity get me out of here... (though becoming a peanut farmer in nebraska could be regarded as buying your way out i guess...)

what she does talk about is her experience of work

GOD BLESS!

Peace and Love,
