well i found this through the bbc website...

so our ABofC has been writing in the New Statesman apparently a leftwing mag....

hmm time is a bit short and i have tried to read the NS article getting some sort of gist of things ... is the ABofC out of line or out of time perhaps or does his views make sense....   should he be spending time writing articles on matters of state and society or

The AB of C has every right to comment on issues of this nature - in fact, I'd go as far as to say that he has a duty to do so.  However, when he makes a comment such as 'policies that no-one voted for', he probably ought to have looked at both Lib Dem and Tory manifestos - perhaps even Labour's as well - because he would have found a lot about what is happening in all three of them.  I was also amused to see that he castigated Labour about as much as he did the coalition partners.  Also nice to see a vaguely respectable attempt at opposition, even if not elected, because the Labour Party's record over the past 12 months has been pretty pathetic

Nice comment I saw somewhere - the AB of C saying this to DC who replies - 'yes, I got the idea from your Anglican Covenant'... and one has to ask how many of the general population voted for him to be made AB of C. Having said that, of COURSE he was right to say it - but in all fairness he is not in a very strong moral position.
