Did you never have a Scottish equivalent to the Welsh 'Sons of Glyndwr' who went around torching houses they thought were second homes, especially in N. Wales.  Certainly, on at least one occasion, they torched a house that not only had a dog in it, but belonged to the local farmer, who had managed to get someone to cover his farm for a month or so whilst he and his family had a long-deserved holiday!!

I couldn't confidently say that there's NEVER been anything like that, Andy, but not that I'm aware of - it's mostly Nats pontificating about how "everyone in Scotland" wants independence - but they're SO sure of that that they won't have a referendum   .....coz deep down, they know what the response will be! YES, some do want it, but thankfully they ARE in the minority, no matter WHAT that eejit Salmond thinks!!
