not at all itchy - just as soft as wool - which is what it is after all...

I used to have a jumper knitted from mohair by my Nana -  and that could be a bit itchy (but it looked nice and was very fashionable). Someone who has dog hair jumpers describes them to be a bit like mohair but more lightweight and soft - see linky below
