Re: Holidays

If I had my choice I would take a holiday somewhere warm (not too warm), beautiful, peaceful and close to the sea - with great places to eat and interesting places to visit. Would like to do more traveling - like you say Andrew - so much of the world to see ...

I have some vouchers left from when I won a little Spa break in Durham - so I hope to make use of them if we manage to get away for a weekend - perhaps at Center parcs nr Penrith (not too far from Durham). Also might take a camping break - not done that for years.

Just got back (... well yesterday) from a weekend break in Center parcs (as above).  We booked for the spa in the aqua sana for when we arrived (lots of fragrant themed steam baths and a sauna to help relaxation and clearing pores etc).

Took advantage of the discounts on the VIP pass from visit Durham. Visited Durham Cathedral again but this time with youngest daughter too. She loved taking some very arty photos in the cloisters part and hubby got to climb the tower. Apparently last time we were only about 15 steps from the top when I chickened out  :doh

Saw the Silver Swan at the Bowes museum (google it) and also got to see High Force (waterfall) at Teesdale - which I have been wanting to do for yrs. One visitor attraction we visited (Thorpe farm) seemed to have scaled down what it had listed on offer in the VIP pass -  probably due to recession (sadly). No animals and no birds of prey centre - though the food we had there was nice.

On traveling back to lancs we visited the Lakes - and guess what ????
