There is a reason for that Ecu - the line is so heavily used that a train blocking it or in the wrong place means that others can't get where they need to until that one is got out of the way - and then they are not in the right place for the next bit of their work.

Bless you! i think i had just about understood that much about trains that they can't just move over to the hard shoulder and everyone overtake them..  it is a potential weakness in design for a transport system transporting masses of people from Ato B
