I love the image of the eggbox....and I agree...we have a quick scan at the top of the box...yes, they look fine, look usual, look fine....but underneath they are bleeding into the box, open to decay, and in some cases, beyond hope.....but at first glance look fine.
Glad you could nurse yours back to health though!!!!!

Happy Easter!

Seems like Roger's funeral was today...I would have loved to be there....but there has been a chance to reflect, and remember a Great Soul.

Interested to see this, as the Unitarian church in Newington Green has recently been sprayed with a Banksy style stencil of Woolstoncraft.
She was of course the mother of Mary Shelley as well as being a kind of mother to feminism...

Our friend Roger, who was such a loving support to many members of the group has sadly died today.  For so many of us we will feel that Roger was a friend to us, and to us especially.  He had a talent for making you feel special, and feel cared for.  In my bad times he would ring, or text, and if he didn't you still felt cared for.  Though not an instigator he was a very special part of our meets in Derbyshire, then Immi's, then at Rogers house where he offered his trademark hospitality, gorgeous garden, wonderful food...and of course, his own personality.
I'm in bits tonight.....I knew I liked him, and appreciated him....but it's more than that...he was one of the really good ones.

Rest in peace, Rog, and walk in eternity

I heard him being interviewed on Radio 4s Sunday programme.  I've always liked him because hes sincere, and he really does try to be inclusive and to reach those at the edge.  I do think Christianity can happily step over 300 rules in order to find one they can beat someone with..he lays down a challenge to people...which is good

Hope people had a good Christmas.  Its not always an easy time...no matter how much we try!
I managed a fairly quiet one at nome wit a friend over from Christmas Eve to Boxing Day, with Josh round a few days too.
New Years Day had a visit to the seaside...always gorgeous in winter, and packed with dogs

We still seem to have a silence on the issue of Palestine...though I know that it's a situation where blame is difficult

The Lounge / Obama Gets a second term
« on: November 07, 2012, 22:18:54  »
I seemed to have lots of friends who were very pleased that Obama has a second term.  Maybe it says something about the type of friends I have.  Seems it was a fairly close run thing, so I do wonder why more friends are not upset.  The people on a  mission to preserve heterosexuality are convinced it was all fixed.

I'm a bit....meh...it's not my country.

So what difference will it make to you personally, and what difference to the world?  Did he achieve what he set out to do 4 years ago?  If he didn't, why did he get a second chance?

Why didn't Ronmeys magic underpants work?  Why is a mormon the hero of people trying to save the institution of marriage?

The Lounge / Ian Brady....sane enough to enact suicide?
« on: July 06, 2012, 22:51:33  »
Brady has had many people in a pickle...he wants to prove he is sane so that he can starve himself to death.  For years many have clamoured for the death sentence for him...and he's happy to die, so many want him to be forced to live.....so...should convicted criminnals be allowed to opt out of life?
