..response to the disturbances
« on: August 11, 2011, 17:39:39 »
well little dc had plenty to say in parliament today... assuring us all (if you are that is) that law and order is a priority... that the police cuts won't affect response or police on the streets.... that it is an argument to disband police authorities and have elected commissioners .... all is in hand and the little thugs will be dealt with effectively...

well for some reason little dc having a moment of composure leaves me feeling ... well this is all profoundly disturbing

dunno if anyone else was bemused by the delay in politicians returning from their fancy holidays abroad...

seems to me the one person who shoulda been back shitfast was  Boris Johnson who ... did he forget he was elected london mayor? that is possible judging by the dishevelled way he held a media conference in london in the streets of croydon before veeting with his er electors who had just seen theri livielihoods go up in smoke...

well .... he is the mayor... let's backtrack a bit ... he has been cleaning the city of low life in celebration of the Olympics so he's been chucking out the homeless onto other municipalities (not so relevant) and displacing (according to a news source/spokesperson on radio or papers) .... drugs dealers from Kings Cross area who went off to Tottenham....  where the Trident operation resulted in the shooting of Duggan (still under investigation) tjhat the locals wanted some fast answers on .... and got nowt.. got frustrated and started throwing some toys out of the pram.... then everything kicked off ... in my view he should have been back taking responsibility supporting both police in their work and the local community calling for calm.

It's further astonishing that Cameron delayed another day before returning....

then he does his big i am your leader thing... i noted that he seems to have slipped off the rails on his language... whatever happened to his hip use of language ? if you are old enough to do the crime you are old enough to.....

but what was interesting was that his media savvy nature said it all ... he was shocked by 1) what it looked like on tv and then 2) how it affected communities.... these are it seems his order of priorities... for some reason the media failed to pick that one up maybe they are suffereing the same disconnect... the media is one thing the so called elected representative is another... it is one thing to not really be elected on a majority mandate and to spin along pretending things are not as they are but it is quite another thing not to take on what by default you are placed in position of responsibility for... are the sensibilities of tv viewers really more important than real live folks facing real live dramas of life for which someone is in a position of responsibility  just another example of someone being unfit for office

the other person who has been a bit quiet seems to be George Osborne.. who i imagine is rubbing his hands in glee at the prospect of better growth figures in the costly tidying up of the mess

from the radio it seems some folks is worried that short of stopping what has been little will be done to sort out the mess outside of whatever the courts get up to...

there has been some criticism of Theresa May who just a week ago heralded as the next prime minister... her defense of the approach of the police... raised the issue of out of touchness some questioned why the use of water cannons and rubber bullets were not an earlier option afterall if it's good enough for NI ....  many have queried the lack of insight into problems endemic in some areas of the country by politicians who ... well there's nothing new there

anyhow does a speech here and there suffice?  what needs to be done what needs to happen?

Lord please Bless our real people!

GOD BLESS!

Peace and Love,

well...the current lot have only been in just over a year, and I'm wondering if you think that this has been caused in a year.  apparently some looters claimed they were just getting their tax back, but taxes haven't changed much.  while police numbers are due to be cut, they haven't been yet......

I'm surprised as well that you're so keen to get out the rubber bullets, why not real ones, and string em up from lamp-posts?

are you suggesting that as a tactic for NI?
