They interviewed the council for the complainants on BBC Breakfast this morning, and he seemed to be saying that Birmingham/any council would have been within their rights to have taken this decision IF they had done a full review into its impact before taking it.  I may have got this wrong, as I had to take a phone call at about the point he made this comment - so may have missed some vital detail.  However, I think it shows just how complex the issue is.

Goog on em. Had to laugh at a memo posted up at my work place, explaining why we have not had a pay rise in three years because of the recent cuts.

no it did... i clicked onto the pony story earlier to find this one under 'other stories'

however it's all over the news today a bit unmissable

but had you clicked on this story first, you would probably have found the pony story under 'other stories'.  It's also worth noting that the judgement was only given today, some hours after the pony incident!!
