interesting and inspiring stories
« on: June 21, 2011, 18:51:41 »
i particularly liked this one... the person who told me it spoke as if it was old hat well it may have been but not to me:

there was this community of folks and everyday there was a kindov ritual where stars for good things and spots for well not so good things were given out and everyone wore their stars and spots.... so some folks had loadsa stars and some... loadsa spots!....

there was an exception however....   there was one girl (of course) who never had either stars or spots and was always singing and in a good mood.... well.... one of the other folks noticed this and asked her about that and she said: oh i just visit old Eli everyday.....   this person was intrigued can i visit old Eli.... of course you can ... and so together they went to visit old Eli.... she left them there and off she went... the other person chatted alone... and suddenly noticed that ... the spots and stars had vanished....

that's as good as it gets i like the imagery that human values of good and  bad no longer have any relevance whatsoever with GOD

any other stories anyone?

GOD BLESS!

Peace and Love,

You know, I am not sure that all of them are irrelevant to Him. I think that He will agree with some of our values - bad to kill, covert, lye, etc etc - and good to try to help others. You may say these are not human values, but I reckon I am a human and I hold these values!
Sure things like status, money etc are NOT His values, but the story is a bit simplistic IMO.

well it is a very short story as story's go.... but i do like ... i feel the notion of humans have theri own agenda and notions of praiseworthy and dimworthy.. is a good one... so often we are the arbitrers of what is holy based on what people are doin or not doing.... whereas Holiness is someplace else and accepts whoever and whatever at whatever basis they come and cleanses and washes free... this includes the human praiseworthy elements of 'me i is better than the rest see i has the medal to prove it' as well as 'me i is worse than anyone else see.... cos of whatever and all that'... to be thoroughly simplistic perhaps?
