This blog by the chaplain at Media City in Salford was brought to my attention. He was an eye witness to the events in Salford yesterday.
It's not just what you're given, it's what you do with what you've got.

sounds like GOD was looking out for him.... it's a bit grim when no-one is looking out for others though... GOD?

Stephen Nolan (experienced of NI riots and police response etc) had some special programmes running on the beeb 5-live and so the audio audinece was given some sound effects and some really good and interesting stories first hand...  Salford / Manchester city centre experienced quite a lot of rough handling... one of the interesting features (no less scarey) has been regional differences in perhaps make-up of participants focal points of activity etc...

it's particularly sad that the three men trying to defend local businesses in Birmingham were run over and killed ...it was moving to hear relatives speak about their experience last night
