The king of G Britain and the King of Hanover were the same from George I until William IV, but then Victoria couldn't take it due to being a woman. Likewise the head of state in differing commonwealth countries would change. The mothod of choosing that head would be consistent for each country. I suspect the whole point will be lost thoughh, and people would just pack it all in.
