well to answer the all important question... over the years it's been a variety Softly softly and the bill with early imagination captured in the various forensic series...

favs that come to mind ...  and i think i am asking the question cos it's so annoying when a fav series comes to an end and there aint really a show that takes over the interest.....

'homicide-life on the streets' used to be showed at silly then even sillier times on channel 4.. remains my all time favourite detective series...p-ound for pound.. a mix of sympathetic and underwhelming people on the team... at least one significant woman cop ... the complex interactions.. pretty good directing and acting from folks who none of them were household names.... i liked the hand held style and ... was it in b/w or was that just my telly....  it is one that is heavily based on research of an actual cop team and it's cool not to be in NY or LA

i like CSI (Las Vegas ) for forensics team and logic is that really futuristic lab they have there... though haven't seen too much of the series without Grissom

though Silent Witness isn't bad Waking the dead  at times rather fanciful terrible policework at times

Cold case... forensic policework at times some way off the original events .... was thoroughly irritated and bemused the first episode or two i saw randomly arriving mid investigation ... i didn't get the apparency of ghosts? ...  the flashback formula to original timeframe folks as they were 'at the time'... but it has grown on me enormously the more episodes i have seen probs that secret formula of no guarantee whatsoever that i will like it... strong women characters and roles ...oh the woman who has had to battle to get there .... and shocking as well as moving story lines with social history rocking in and out of time...  it's the closest thing to watching Judge Judy in terms of the characters of the stories and in that sense a vagueness of emotional reality..

Law and order SVU... gruesome stories strong women's roles

oh and if it makes me cry all the better

used to like Morse though they seemed to spend most of the episode doing the wrong thing ... and like Lewis and Hatthaway mostly cos of the religious themes
Gently though i really don't like the pair of them's sense of humanity

GOD BLESS!

Peace and Love,
