led by Philip Pullman... the list of celebs is pretty familiar but is Philip P the best person to er lead the revolt?

this looks a bit of a publicity stunt but is this the best opposition can do?
If this is the best the opposition can do, then i think they have got a long way to go.  Philip Pullman is probably not the best person to be leading such a campaign, if only because he - rather like the politicos in all three main parties - is damaged goods anyway.  I suppose that, as a Green party supporter, I am duty-bound to say this, but the mess that Labour got us into, and the pretty ineffectual attempts that the coalition has so far produced to remedy Labour's errors points to the bankrupt nature of the three parties' thinking.
