If reports are true, then tension has been growing for some time - but then it always does at this time of year.  Not only are there the Orange marches we've got the long summer with high unemployment creating a host of disaffected individuals (not only yuffs) and plenty of long evenings to cause trouble.  Whilst we tend to concentrate on N. Ireland, we'll also see plenty of news reports of equivalent unrest across the UK - and that's without union actions being planned.



actually according to Stepehn Nolan there has been trouble as you say every year it is unusual to have it reported!

 is disaffection leading to riots necessarily dependent on unemployment... if that's the case we should be seeing less disaffection not more in the UK..
