dunno about equal coverage of women's sport.... also and i don't have regular access to tv (thankfully) but they are really selective as to what sports are covered and who they would see and supporting british competitors ... methinks with these emphases no wonder brits are not as competitive as they might be except in certain sports... even for high participation sports like martial arts squash that are reasonably accessible to start out on.....
women's sports that could get more coverage .... netball? which is pretty fast moving and non stop but hey
Boston Tommy how can you say that sport is not culture?.... whatever one thinks of it ..... the preoccupation and endeavour and conversation of the day ... all those tribal songs and all that?
what is culture... it certainly is a preoccupation of the media... BBC jhas dedicated an entire radio station to it... there is nothing worse than looking forward to some live chat only to find that the show has been hijacked by the world series baseball game or the boxing or something.... live news does not seem to have a shared gravitas of ditching say an inngland footie friendly in favour of live broadcast of something that actually matters! ... is that culture or culture setting!
