I've always wondered about the randomness of having sports sections and news in papers and so on - seems an arbitrary choice somehow - why not crafts, or parenthood or education, or even religion(!!!)?  What's so special about sport that it has its own section, not that I am saying there shouldn't be any news of it.  I'm just wondering about the assumption that it requires attention daily and that it's ring fenced.  Is it a man thing?
JJ, I think that there is a place in society for sport - both men's and women's - and there are plenty of women who are interested in sports, from F1 to rugby, netball or hockey.  Sadly, there doesn't seem to be enough coverage of women's sports in newspapers' columns.
