I honestly thought a child could have come up with better ideas for apps than the two teams on the apprentice last night.

The first place to look Jan would be the app store to see if some one has already used your idea, I've had a few ideas, then only to find they've already been done.
I don't know where you would go to find developers of apps, other than the site you've already seen.
