My wife picked up her supply of daily aspirin yesterday.  It has a warning on the pharmacist's label 'Contains aspirin'.  We certainly would hope so!

As for dodgems - they've always had a warning not to hit other cars deliberately in my experience.  It's just that everyone ignored it.  I think the original idea was that you drove like the wind, and dodged the other cars.  One trick used to be to turn the wheel as far as you could, so that the car went into reverse.  When I was young the fairground workers id it to impress the girls.

And, of course, it's all about 'truth'.  Racism?  Of course not!

I sometime wonder where one could move to to escape the malign influences of weird politicians.

You don't want any letters about pensions!  I have a state pension plus three others from jobs I've held, so the tax has to be taken off one of the occupational pensions.  The Darlington pension is dealt with by a tax office in Wales, the Surrey one by an office in Scotland, and the Berkshire one by an office in Kent.  Cue the annual routine of making sure that we don't have a situation where each tax office thinks the tax allowance has been applied to the one of the other two pensions, so they should take a full 20%.

And, of course, each change generates two letters from HMRC.

So enjoy retirement, Andy - you'll spend all your time sortig out tax problems.

Ah, yes! the other meaning of "culture".  I assumed that the meaning was "high" culture - opera, books by James Joyce, that kind of thing.  The sounds I hear from Portman Road at a home game don't sound very operatic, although some players (not Ipswich players, of course) might sneak into "culture" on the basis of acting out a false foul!

I wasn't thinking of a change of title, nor even of dividing the topic, just thinking that there's no culture in the media or sport, no sport in culture - that kind of thing.

I looked at the three areas covered by this space, and wondered if "Culture", "Media" and "Sport" aren't mutually incompatible categories of discussion?

I always thought it was "Nice", as in France.
