What makes my blood boil is the so called healers and these churches, I won't name them, that tell those not healed that they were not healed because their faith is weak and or because of the sin in their lives. These poor people are abandoned by their congregation and left to die alone.

I absolutely believe Christ heals, I just don't believe He uses gimmicks nor requires jumping and yelling and shoving to do so.

A person that buys a miracle cloth, miracle water or goes to a faith healer should be embarrassed. To sue for not being cured is just a scam artist suing a fellow scam artist.

News Review / Re: Anti abortionist movement goes mainstream?

ecu,
Why not? I can tell you as one who has abstained for years, I am not unhealthy. Abstaining is the best form of preventing nasty std's, unwanted pregnancies etc, etc. The Bible promotes abstinance until one weds. But the pickers and choosers will ignore that scripture. There is nothing Godly, peaceful, painless, nor loving in ripping apart the bodies of innocent babies in the wombs of their mothers. Somehow society has conned itself into accepting the destruction of the baby as the answer to whatever the hardship or the horror the mother may or may have to face. Killing a baby in the womb and this is well documented has a forever negative effect on the mother. Physical and mental. It is a innocent human baby in there and all mothers and most others know this to be true. The murder of the guiltless party is no answer. I beleive each and every baby is home with Jesus and we all are responable for their deaths. It enrages me that my tax dollars goes to promote the murder of babies in their mothers womb. Is this the message of Christ that some of you believe in? And being adopted, I must tell ya, I'm thankful that my bio mom put herself out for nine months in order that I might have a long life. Come on, let's get the terrorists and keep our babies! A friend of our was a missionary nurse in Mexico, she was ****. She came home and had a deformed little baby boy. That little boy is now a very successful young man, he's just missing some fingers that's all. How could anyone believe he hadn't the right to a life. How could his murder have helped my friend any. No, she has a loving son today and I don't think abortion even crossed her mind. Sorry to burst your bubble but right to lifers have always been mainstream. I've watched the silent scream and have a book on the testemonies of women who have had abortions, it's the worst non-solution. I think many pro choicers know they are decieving women when they encourage them to kill their babies. Shameful.

Jan, I appologize. I will try and go back over those posts and questions. I'm really frustrated right now. I've got a gardening bussiness to run and clients are calling and having me run all over the place and I've got mom 87, that requires 24 hour care. I'm tempted to unplug the phone find a sitter and hide. But I will go back and try to answer those questions. Now the creation accounts are one of my favs. A rainy cold day or two would be a blessing right now.

Don't get me wrong, I love our La Belle province and by my biological father I have some French blood in my veins. They do get clever politicians on occassion. In last provincial vote on separation the separatist provincial government at the time came within less than 1% on winning it. Fool of a leader got drunk that night went before the cameras and blamed the loss on Quebec anglos and ethnics. Separation is at it's lowest level in a long time. No threat of them leaving any time soon.
I think it was south park but Americans have their jokes about us as we do about them.

Jan,
Only a fool would think that evil will end with the execution of Osama. The Bible is clear about evil and when it will end. Here's a problem I have. On one hand you say Christ is of peace. Yes the Bible clearly tells us this. So this part of the Bible you say is correct. But where Christ acts out in a rage (a righteous rage) and where the Bible foretells the war Christ will fight, you throw up arguments about how unreliabel or possibly inacurate or who really wrote a particular book in it. This is how you dismiss the responsability of our states to use the sword against those that do evil. Again, Osama was in the middle of planning attacks on US trains. Now being that the US was criminal in going into Pakistan in the first place so you believe. Who has the resposability to prevent those attacks exactly and how? You refuse to separate the resposability of the state and how we conduct our day to day interaction with others. Romans clearly shows us the distinction. Evil is real. Can I ask you how would you have Osama brought to justice? Keeping in mind, we cannot go into Pakistan, they won't arrest him for us as, have't for the past 10yrs. Jan the way it would have worked out if your view prevailed is that Osama would never be held to account. He would live his days in that luxury compound working on those terrorist attacks on trains. Where is any justice in this? But your view gives no other result but that.
I think the problem is that you can't wrap your head around the fact that a person can have to kill and yet be a person with Christian love. Any justified violence or future violence shown us in scripture you dismiss with the excuses that I have mentioned. You must take the scripture in it's entirety or dismiss all and not use it as a support for you views. So does the scripture have any authority for you? Is it just a case of selective use for a view point? We are to love one another according to scripture and the state can us the sword according to scripture. I knew growing up that my parents loved me and I also new that if I did drugs, I would have been thrown out or if I had pulled a crime they would have called the police on me. If I killed an innocent person they would not blame the state at my execution. They would be weeping for me.

Jan, I took a look at the link. I agree in the use of the sword in self defense. The problem is we are miles apart in how we see what Obama did. I see his actions as self defense on our behalf. I mean Osama has had ten years to turn himself in and explain or repent for his actions. Osama was in the middle of planning terrorist attacks on trains in the US.
The episode of Christ and Peter drawing the sword has no link to the states God given responsability to use the sword to protect it's people. Christ came to die for us, of course He wouldn't have Peter prevent it nor would He call down the angels
I do believe that if Osama had put up his hands in surrender when they came into that room he would still be alive. He should have learned from Sadam. He was smart enough to raise his hand before he crawled out of his rat hole. That gave him a bit more time living so that his own countrymen could hang him.
Just saw on CBC that Canada's la belle province (Quebec) has passed a resolution in it's legislature about the death of Osama. It's a watered down version making it more acceptable to the social lefty separitists, but it passed. Sometimes the polititians in la belle province impress me, not often though.

Boudi,
I'm sorry. I'm going to tone it down and be more polite. My posts are certainly not showing much evidence of Christian love. I was shocked a bit. I've never met a Christian preacher that jokes around with the name of Jesus and I didn't need to get all up about it. Not to mention my other posts. So anyway I guess we know each others opinion on the use of the sword and neither will be swayed by the other.

ecu, if Paul didn't believe that the state is justified in using the sword to protect us from people who do evil then he would not have written that it is.
I wish Osama had allowed all those innocent people on 9/11 to plead for their lives, given a chance to explain why they're not guilty and why they should live.

Andy, this prosperity gospel is a heresy that has crept into many evangelical churches. Many of us evangelicals stand against it. As a Baptist I gotta tell you that I really don't know the southern Baptists. I do know that there are finger pointers in every church. I do know that Jimmy Carter and Al Gore are Baptists and are just as disgusted by the Westboro group as I am.

Captain America Jesus?
What type of church are you connected to? What kind of church and what kind of "preacher" are you? Or are you really at all. Do you and your church make a habit of mocking Jesus? I think I've got you figured out. Has things gotten so dark in the UK that your supposed preachers joke around with the name Jesus? Perhaps someone isn't a preacher at all. My guess is that you would have to be somebody that is more unitarian, all religions are one, lets put flowers in our hair and dance naked on some pagan feast or even for Christmas. But for sure any time all the planets are lined up correctly. Yikes!

Jan, there is only one Jesus Christ and He is God the Son.
Boudi, I'm playing victim? LOL! Your a hoot. My point is and I'm sorry I didn't write it plain enough for you to get, is that the "common view" is often the wrong view. For example it was popular in Ur during the days Abram lived there, to worship a multitude of gods. Abram went against this "common view". Simple enough for ya eh? I'm no Bin Laden, I wouldn't go about planning the killing of innocent people for the good of Islam. However I am a Cree and we are hunters. So if you are ever starving let me know. I'll send you over some deer or moose meat.

The pharisees were huge on folowing the law to the letter. They thought that was what made them pure in God's eyes. Christ set their heads spinning like Linda Blaire's in the Exorcist.  It has all to do with ones heart. All to do with a personal relationship with Jesus.

Our French separatists want to be an independant country. They want to separate from Canada. However there's a catch. They still want to use our money, they still want to sit in our parliment and the Canadian government must still send pension checks to the people in this independant nation. That's like the guy that leaves mom and dad's houise but keeps stopping around to raid the fridge and do his laundry. Well a couple weeks ago Quebec sent a clear message to the separatists. They have been reduced to two seats in parliment from 50 some. They no longer have party status in Ottawa. For now Quebec separation is on it's death bed. Oh and what really gets me going is they think the aboriginals would have no choice in the matter. I hope your Scotland stays in your United Kingdom. If they don't are you going to change the name? LOL

Well I have no problem going against the common view at times. It was the common view that it was necessary to force my people onto reservations. Just come visit our reservations. Third world. I think at one time in your country, a common view was that slavery was a good thing. Thank God some were brave enough to stand against the "common view".

Oops, sorry Jan. With three or four of ya firing at me at once, you're all just one big blob to me at times.LOL!
Boudi, taking the ****? You can make your point without going gutter. Or maybe you can't. Nice writing "preacher"!
